According to data from the end of December 2022, there were a total of 64,705 passenger and commercial electric cars registered in Poland. In 2022, their number grew by 26,439 units, or 33% more than in the same period of 2021 – according to the E-Mobility Index, launched by PZPM and PSPA.

At the end of December 2022, there were 61,570 electric passenger cars driving on Polish roads. Fully electric cars (BEV, battery electric vehicles) accounted for 31,249 units or 51% of the whole fleet, with the remainder being plug-in hybrids (PHEV, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) at 30,321 units or 49%. The fleet of electric vans and trucks amounted to 3,135 units. The fleet of electric mopeds and motorbikes also continues to grow, totalling 16,274 units at the end of December. Number of hybrid cars and vans, increased to 475,807 units. At the end of last month, Poland’s electric bus fleet grew to 821 units.

In parallel to the fleet of electric vehicles, the charging infrastructure is also being expanded. At the end of December 2022, there were 2,565 publicly available electric vehicle charging stations (5,016 points) in Poland. 29% of these were direct current (DC) fast charging stations and 71% were slow alternating current (AC) chargers of 22 kW or less. In December, 38 new public charging stations (103 points) were deployed.
