Demand for battery electric cars (BEV) in Europe will increase to approx. 50% in 2030 and to approx. 70% in 2040, according to an analysis by Element Energy and the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSPA), which covers seven European markets. The authors of the report also indicate that the acceleration of the demand for zero-emission cars by approx. 30% may take place in the case of early popularization of dedicated BEV platforms or by 8% with intensified development of public charging infrastructure. However, the purchase price remains the key challenge for the e-mobility sector.
